The “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” rolls out for a five-film series, as per author and producer J.K. Rowling.
Rowling marks her first screenplay gig in “Fantastic Beasts” which extends for another four films, following the success of the Harry Potter series.
“We always knew that it was going to be more than one movie — we knew that from the start — so we set a trilogy as a sort of placeholder, because we knew there would be more than one movie,” said Rowling at the Empire Theatre in London.
“But I’ve now done the plotting properly, so we’re pretty sure it’s going to be five movies,” she added.
The initial “Fantastic Beasts” film is under the direction of David Yates with characters played by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler.
Yates will also be directing the sequel, following the script by the HP author.
The second installment is expected to premiere on November 16 2018
