We may know a number of Taylor Swift’s girl friends (spotted in her music videos and award show appearances) but there are only a few which we can say her true best friends for life.
Here are 5 of America’s Sweetheart’s BFFs on and off-screen.
- Selena Gomez

With the recent snapchat expose courtesy of Kim K, Selena deserves to be first in the list for defending her bestie, Taylor from the massive hate she’s received online. Both popstars knew each other since 2008 through dating two Jonas Brothers–Joe and Nick. Since then, they were each other’s +1’s in red carpets and several award shows. You can never go wrong with old friendships and shared romantic relationships.
- Karlie Kloss

The official best-friendship of this twin towers started during Swift’s performance at the Victoria Secret fashion show in 2013. It was also in this event that Taylor began “collecting” members for her A-list circle of friends which then got the attention of media and fans around the world. The BFF status of Swift and Kloss went a notch higher as they were featured in a fun and perky photoshoot and interview with Vogue magazine. #FriendshipGoals it is.
- Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee and Taylor met through Emma Stone, a mutual friend, and became best of friends ever since. The celebrity starlet said that she finds it hard to fit into a group until she met Taylor and the rest of “the squad”, as it’s commonly known. Both have been very supportive with each other’s events and concerts. Presently, the growing celebrity girl squad is flocked with stars like Steinfeld—young, pretty, and elongated.
- Lena Dunham

She admits that her figure and height are unlike Taylor’s supermodel friends. Lena, however, didn’t let these physical qualities hinder her admiration for the singer/songwriter. Being a true friend that she is (along other members of the clique), she attends and appears at several of Tay’s concerts. She even did a cameo in the post-apocalyptic “Bad Blood” music video to which she played as Lucky Fiori.

One of the things Taylor enjoys doing with her besties is attending cooking classes complete with hats and chef uniforms. Lorde isn’t an exception to this. Although the Kiwi singer isn’t much of a cook, she and Taylor hang out in the kitchen or attend cooking classes around the city. Like any other celebrity friendship, both singers went through rumors but proved that their BFF status is solid rock. Swift even reacted through a tweet saying she and Lorde are “Facetiming constantly from US to NZ.” Now, that’s dedication.
Taylor’s fun and perky personality brought her friends she can rely on in times of heartaches and media bashing. And like everybody else, she, too, deserves genuine friendships whatever other might tag her to be.
